Bobbers Mill Transport Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Bobbers Mill Transport Cafe feels like slipping into a well-worn, familiar refuge where the day moves at its own steady pace. This is the kind of place where the clatter of morning cups and the murmur of workday conversation blend effortlessly with the smell of freshly baked bread and hearty, homemade fare. It’s a café that quietly welcomes both early risers and those dropping in later, offering a comforting rhythm that suits the neighborhood’s diverse and hardworking crowd.
The atmosphere here carries the warmth of tradition without the weight of formality. The space is tidy and spacious—a nod to thoughtful upkeep and a genuine respect for the people who come through its doors. Whether it’s the regulars claiming their usual seats or newcomers drawn by the promise of a properly cooked breakfast or a steaming tea, there’s a relaxed honesty throughout the room. You won’t find flashiness here; instead, there’s something honest and grounding, a place where the food and the community feel like they’ve grown together over years.
Eating at Bobbers Mill isn’t about novelty—it’s a sincere experience of familiar dishes done well. Expect plates that cradle a rich sense of home: the kind of breakfasts that come with fried bread, the faintly sweet pull of rhubarb crumble, or pies filled with meat and vegetables made from scratch. Each meal feels like a warm invitation, something to be savored slowly, with time to appreciate the crackle of crusts fresh from the oven and the subtle layering of simple ingredients.
There’s a clear honesty to the menu and its execution—no shortcuts, just food made with care, served up by staff who know their regulars by name and aren’t shy with a smile. It’s a setting where you might notice the honest hum of daily life happening around you: work boots resting, friendly greetings exchanged, and the comforting consistency of a kitchen that’s always cooking up something hearty.
Bobbers Mill Transport Cafe perfectly captures the spirit of a true workman’s café, offering a sense of belonging that transcends the meal itself. Here, the food is more than sustenance; it’s a shared expression of neighborhood life, lived and savored in rhythm with the day’s unfolding moments.

Just went for the first time in a few years. Food was absolutely amazing, puts everywhere to shame. Not sure why I've been anywhere else for a breakfast. Will be back soon. Great value and smiley staff as well. Amazing.

Great sos and tom doorstep. Spotlessly clean as well. Unfortunately the lady that clears the tables has an unbelievably foul mouth and the way she speaks to customers isn't right.

I can’t recommend this place enough! The food is always top notch, the staff are friendly and a good atmosphere! Not the cheapest around but you definitely get what you pay for! I’ve been a retuning customer for years and that will not change!!

Its a cafe ideal for any trade, and others of course. I used to come here years ago, so it was long overdue for another visit. Its spacious, clean and tidy. I gather they've just been re-decorated inside. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had the full breakfast with toast and tea. It was all served promptly and was freshly cooked. The fried egg and bacon were good. Tomatoes nice and hot with warm buttered toast. The only item that let it down was the quality of the sausages. Hence a star rating dropped. For me a good sausage makes my breakfast. If I visit again I would go for a vegetarian version, but then thats not quite the same. I'd happily pay a little extra for say a Cumberland sausage. Car parking just outside free on the road for up to 2 hours.

This is a workman's cafe. I think they open early, this is the first time I went there. They served all day breakfasts, I arrived after 11am and lunch was already being served, so I had steak pie, peas carrots mash, and lots of gravy. Good home cooked meal at a reasonable price. I was surprised there were many workmen enjoying the food.

Nottingham's finest cafe. Try the SoS sausage sandwich. Extensive menu and amazing value.

Very friendly staff, excellent food, nice atmosphere! The prices were very reasonable - £6.30 for my breakfast.
